Libby Beattie has always been interested in design. Whether it is a beautiful building, garden, simple piece of furniture, decorative fabric, ceramic or a piece of art or sculpture.

Libby Beattie trained as an interior designer in London at the Inchbald School of Design in the 1980’s and then worked for 10 years in Europe before returning to New Zealand. In France she spent three years converting a fifteenth century chateau into apartments for holiday retreats.

Libby returned to Wellington, New Zealand in the mid 1990’s and started her own practice in 1998. Libby has undertaken a broad range of interesting projects. These have included homes, apartments and commercial spaces including many of Wellington’s most well-known restaurants.
